the true wealth

... recently, there was a story in the news
about the belief of some Christians, that if
God likes you, he will send you wealth

... this belief relieves people of the guilt feeling,
as they accumulate personal wealth, in a
very inequitable world

... personally, I don't know what to think
about wealth, mostly because I don't have
any :-)

... I don't like jewelry, gold, fast cars,
and all the other glittering trappings
of modern civilization

... in the Srimad Bhagavatam, it is stated
that Krishna is both the resevoir of all
wealth, and it's greatest ascetic

... God dosn't need gold and glitter to
be appealling, and it is the one thing
about the Hindu and Krishna culture which
I find somewhat repulsive, as they adorn
their Gods with gold

... I'm sorry, but from what I've experienced
in my life, I think God pretty much renounces
all displays of wealth

... as for people collecting wealth to excess,
the wealth is intended to be used to make
the earth a better place, use it otherwise,
at your own peril

... so that gets us back to the question of what
is true wealth?

... for me, true wealth is having God's prescense
felt here on earth, and it manifests itself in the
regular rains, the bountiful harvests, peace amoung
peoples, and a general sense of happiness in all

... accumulated wealth is accumulated karma, and
if you know what that means, all my writings
have been successful
